We carried out an investment task in the “design and build” formula entitled: “Modernization of the Katowice – Rondo junction” for Tramwaje Śląskie S.A.

The total value of the investment task amounted to nearly PLN 7.7 million (gross) and the entire project was carried out in two stages: stage I between 25 June and 16 November 2018; and stage II between 14 June and 30 August 2019.

The scope of the task included:

  • Preparation of design documentation and obtaining administrative decisions enabling the implementation of construction works.
  • Modernization of the tram track with a total length of 660.6 meters of single track, including: demolition of the old permanent way, construction of a classic base of ballast on sleepers along with the construction of the ballast substructure and track tamping, installation of three road-tramway crossings using prefabricated track slabs
  • Delivery and installation of three complete double-track single turnouts on wooden switch sleepers, together with the construction of a ballast layer and turnout tamping, along with point machines, as well as heating and drainage systems.
  • Installation of expansion joints and rail lubrication devices with lubrication points.
  • Tram track drainage.
  • Topsoiling and grass sowing.
