On 24 October 2024, a technical run was carried out on the tram tracks at Kocmyrzowska Street in Kraków, which completed the first stage of alteration of the base of ballast from Darwina Street to the Wzgórza Krzesławickie tram terminus.
This stage included connecting the entire project to the adjacent scope, the installation of 140 meters of single track of classic base of ballast with 60R2 rails on pre-stressed concrete sleepers, 166 meters of single track of permanent way without ballast in prefabricated track and road slabs near the platforms of the Jarzębiny stop, and 470 meters of single track of classic base of ballast with 49E1 railway rails on pre-stressed concrete sleepers. The scope that included classic base of ballast was profiled with backfill
made of railroad ballast under the rail head. The entire catenary has also been altered.
On 31 October 2024, tram traffic was restored to the Jarzębiny stop, serviced by bi-directional rolling stock.
Stage II will involve the construction of the Wzgórza Krzesławickie tram terminus, which will allow for convenient communication in this area of Kraków.
