As part of the project "Improvement of the Functionality of Kielce Herbskie Railway Station – Installation of Turnouts to Enhance Operational Functionality", implemented under the "Elimination of Bottlenecks and Increase of Railway Line Capacity" programme, KZN Rail Sp. z o.o. carried out comprehensive track works, including the construction of a railway drainage system.
The project was executed between 11 January 2024 and 30 July 2025 and included:

1. Track Works Including Drainage:
- Comprehensive replacement of turnouts No. 501, 502, 503 and 504 with turnouts installed on prestressed concrete bearers (3 pcs. Rz-60E1-500-1:12 and 1 pc. Rłd-60E1-600.458/600.458-1:9).
- Installation of new turnouts No. 505 and 506, type Rz-60E1-500-1:12, on prestressed concrete bearers.
- Comprehensive renewal of the track structure within the turnout insertion sections 501–502, 502–503 and 503–504, including construction of a new insertion section between turnouts 505 and 506.
- Comprehensive renewal of the track structure in Tracks No. 1S and 2S from km 5.325 to km 5.668 and in Track No. 3S from km 5.325 to km 5.515, including installation of a new buffer stop and construction of a new guard rail in Track No. 3S-a.
- Reinforcement of the track subgrade beneath the above-mentioned tracks and turnouts by installing a protective layer of graded crushed stone laid on geotextile over the entire section covered by the track renewal works.
- Construction of a drainage system for the above-mentioned tracks and turnouts, consisting of subsoil drains and side ditches.

2. Railway Signalling Works:
- Installation of new electric point machines (6 sets).
- Installation of new point detection units (10 sets).
- Installation of new colour-light signals (31 units).
- Installation of a new track and turnout vacancy detection system based on axle counters (43 detection sections, 2 interlocking control areas).
- Installation of a new signalling cable network.
- Modernisation of the indoor signalling equipment in the KHA and KHB signal boxes (2 interlocking control areas).

3. Non-Traction Power Supply Works:
- Dismantling of existing EOR equipment (4 sets).
- Installation of new EOR equipment (6 sets).
- Installation of a new power supply and control switchboard for the EOR equipment and lighting.
- Installation of new turnout lighting (13 LED luminaires mounted on spun concrete poles).
- Installation of a new cable network.

4. Overhead Contact Line (OCL) Works:
- Replacement of the overhead contact line above turnout crossing PZ 503–504, type SKB70-C, with a C95-C contact line (124 m).
- Installation of a new C95-C overhead contact line above the new turnout crossing PZ 505–506 (139 m).
- For the above turnout crossings, installation of the following:
- pile foundations for support structures and anchor assemblies (14 units),
- individual spun concrete support structures (7 units),
- one portal support structure,
- overhead contact line fittings,
- tensioning anchor assemblies,
- return current bonding system with inter-rail and inter-track connections.
- Re-registration of the YC95-2C overhead contact line in Track No. 2 onto new support structures, including construction of a new tensioning section for disconnect switch R2.
- Re-registration of the C95-2C overhead contact line in Track No. 3 onto new support structures.
- Provision of local and remote control for disconnect switch R2 from the Central Control Room of PGE Energetyka Kolejowa S.A., including installation of the KS02 disconnect switch control cabinet, power supply to the KS02 cabinet, and installation of the control cable.
