We built a pre-fabricated rail connection

Installation of two prefabricated turnouts made with hybrid technology, using our specialized PWP gantries without the need to pull down overhead lines, while maintaining continuous traffic on the adjacent tram depot tracks? We did this at Forteczna Depot in Poznań.

The Poznań project was divided into 2 stages, during each of which prefabricated turnout slabs were laid on a previously prepared substructure; our PWP gantry system was used for this. The prefabricated slabs themselves were reinforced with our innovative “grate” made from a mix of steel and composite bars.

The turnout slabs, once levelled, were rinsed with mineral material ensuring significant durability increase, providing increased durability of the structure. As part of the next step, the turnouts from Kolejowe Zakłady Nawierzchniowe “Bieżanów” were installed at the target location and integrated with previously installed slabs. This provided the perfect opportunity to showcase CONTRACK technology and related construction and logistics works to a wider audience of industry professionals.
